‘Girl Meets World’ News Update: Season 3 to Have a Two-Night Premiere

Fans of 'Girl Meets World' will see their favorite show premiering over a two-night broadcast in the first weekend of June.

According to reports, the first part of the premiere will be aired on Friday, June 3 while the second part will be broadcast on June 5, Sunday. Both will have the same time slot of 8:30 p.m. ET.

The popular show of Disney is making a comeback under the title "Girl Meets High School" and it will show the adventures of Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard) and her best friend Maya Hart (Sabrina Carpenter) as they go through new challenges in their high school life. The previous season ended with the duo completing their middle school.

The third season will also have actors Peyton Meyer as Lucas Friar and Corey Fogelmanis as Farkle Minkus, playing the classmates of Riley and Maya. August Maturo will also feature in the season as Auggie, the other Matthews' kid. Parents Cory Matthews and Topanga Matthews will also make an appearance and see their daughter wading through the new world.

It may be mentioned here that show creator Michael Jacobs previewed the new season in March and it gave a glimpse of the high school journey Riley was going to undertake. Graduation was set up in the subject matter to continue with the third season.

He said at the premiere that there was a big shift between the first and second year. He indicated at a bigger shift between second and third year, while saying that high school is the most confusing and awful territory in a youth's life.

But if one does it right, it can serve as a wonderful springboard for college and rest of the life. Michael emphasized that the team was trying its best for the third season and he wants the viewers to remember the episodes with fondness.

Notably, "Girl Meets World" is a popular sitcom, a coming of age drama that made its debut on Disney channel in 2014. It is a sequel to ABC's "Boy Meets World" sitcom which aired from 1993 to 2000.
