One of the biggest stories in football over the past six months or so has been that of the impending arrival of Jose Mourinho to Manchester United as their manager and for a long time it seemed that it was only a matter of time before the Portuguese would take charge at Old Trafford. However, things have not panned out the way that Jose Mourinho or his representatives would have expected and over the past few months, United have been in touch with the manager but have refused to make a firm offer for him. In fact, there were reports suggesting that Manchester United representatives had asked Mourinho to wait for the appointment and if he did, then the club could be able to appoint him as their manager in the summer of 2017. As one can imagine, such terms are unacppetable for a manager like Mourinho, who wants to get back into top level management in 2016 after being sacked by Chelsea in December of 2015.

However, Jose Mourinho might have made the Manchester United job his top target but that does not mean that he is not in demand in the rest of Europe and as it happens, French champions Paris Saint Germain have sensed an opportunity and are now ready to take the highly rated manager to Paris. According to latest reports published in the British newspaper The Daily Mail, the former Chelsea manager has held talks with the representatives of Paris Saint Germain and is prepared to sign for them if Manchester United are unable to make their mind up regarding their current manager Louis van Gaal.

In addition to that, it is also being reported that Mourinho and his representatives have told Manchester United that unless the club can announce a deal by next week then he will have no other option but to sign for Paris Saint Germain. Current United manager Louis van Gaal has been under throughout this season and has also missed out on UEFA Champions League football next season, which must come as a huge blow. However, the club are going to play in the FA Cup Final this weekend and if they can lift that trophy then Van Gaal's position will be strengthened.
