Kpop News: Minzy signs contract to a new record label

Following the departure of Minzy from her group 2ne1 is her departure to her label (YG Entertainment) too. Minzy reportedly confirmed to have signed an exclusive contract with Music Works.

On May 16, a rep of the record label confirmed that Minzy signed a contract to them. The affiliate stated, "Our label decided to sign an exclusive contract with Minzy after a lot of considerations. She is an artist with limitless potential in many aspects, so we will give her support to her activities in a wide variety of areas. Aside from valuing her talent, we acknowledge her politeness and her high set of values. So with that, we will not hold back, instead, we will work with her and give her support so she can grow and develop."

The representative also stated, "Minzy intends to make efforts as a musician; she will be working as a soloist, writing he own music and lyrics, she will also be giving support to My Teen, a new group that will make their debut next year, and will give assistance to both of her juniors, male or female. We ask everyone to give her support, love, and interest." (Soompi)

Many fans were both sad and happy of Minzy's current state. Fans saying, "if she's happy, I'll be happy too", also they keep their love and support to Minzy, some fans were frustrated and still think that Minzy is downgrading instead of upgrading.
