As per news reports, Maxis and The Sims Studios are struggling to port the game from PCs to consoles. Speculation is rife that the popular life simulation game may not be ready in time for its planned release. However, it is important to note that EA, the game publisher, has announced the official date when the game will be released on consoles.

"The Sims 3" came out in 2009 and its ported version was out by October the following year. Based on these timelines, fans are expecting that since "The Sims 4" was released in September 2014, its ported version should be ready in the first quarter of 2016.

However, nothing has been announced or confirmed so far. Fans believe that it is due to the technical glitch that is causing the delay and many expect that it will either release by the end of 2016 or early 2017.

Meanwhile, there are also rumors that EA may throw in a Pet Expansion pack when the game releases on consoles. Apparently, this EA's way of compensating for the delay.

There are also reports that Windows and OS X gamers of "The Sims 4" are looking forward to get the next expansion pack that is expected to be great fun. A unisex feature will be introduced into the game that will allow its male and female characters to have switchable hairstyles.

For now, the "The Sims 4" players are enjoying several add-ons to the game, including two expansion packs, six stuff packs, three digital deluxe upgrade packs, and two game packs. EA has not officially announced anything regarding the delay or the release of "The Sims 4" on PS4 and Xbox One.
