The production for Fast and Furious 8 is currently underway as the film crew gears up to get the scenes right in various locations around the world. In the United States, the production team will be shooting a number of scenes in Cleveland which would require some extra cast for the shoot.

As per Cleve Scene, casting director Angela Boehm has just gotten permission from the Greater Cleveland Film Commission (GCFC) to recruit Cleveland locals to appear as 'reoccurring background extras for multiple days.'

The eight installment to the hugely successful movie franchise will reportedly start its film production beginning with shooting second unit photography from May until June 2016. In movie parlance, second-unit means stunt performance which may not require Vin Diesel hanging around the movie set.

So far, GCFC President Ivan Schwarz said that the production team has yet to identify the roads and highways to be used in the movie. In a press release, Fast and Furious 8 is expected to impact the local economy with more than 380 direct employment opportunities created, 8,200 hotel room nights, and business engagement with more than Ohio-based enterprises for goods and services like equipment rentals, lighting supplies, construction and other related props. Also, the movie production will be needing a whole lot of rentals and paid services for the site, production vehicle, food, office, warehouse fees, and of course private security.

"We are very excited to welcome 'Fast 8' to Cleveland," Shwarz remarked as quoted by Cleveland.Com. "This is yet another example of what an attractive production destination Cleveland has become. We'd like to thank the State of Ohio, the City of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County for working with us and the production to make this happen."

Meanwhile, the main cast led by Vin Diesel and his crew is currently in Cuba shooting some parts of the movie including a crazy drag race involving classic cars with a sea of warm people surrounding the signature car racing scenes of the franchise, Parent Herald reported.

Fast and Furious 8 is reportedly the first Hollywood film to be shot in the island nation that has long been isolated from the mainstream world economy due to an existing economic embargo set by the US following Cuban Missile crisis in the 1960's.
