Certain characters become immortal in the course of cinematic history because of their classic portrayal.

"The Joker" is one such character who became a rage after Heath Ledger put his heart and soul while playing the comic book villain on screen. No wonder, the late actor was showered with widespread praise and also bagged an Academy award for the role.

His signature laugh became a trademark for The Joker and this is why, when Jared Leto was selected to play the villain in "Suicide Squad", he knew it was a huge responsibility and would require unique preparation. So, he put himself entirely into the role so much so that we did not listen from him. But now that the release date of the movie is coming close, the actor has spoken about the homework.

Jared revealed in an interview, how he prepared to develop the signature laugh by walking around the streets of Toronto and New York and experimenting with people. He said that he would roam around and try different laughter styles to crack the code of Joker's maniacal laugh. And if it managed to scare people, he would get a rise out of it.

His co-stars also vouch for his diligent preparation strategy which never let them come face to face with the actor as he was always in-character. Jai Courtney, who will be seen as Captain Boomerang, said that he never saw him out-of-character, during the shooting. Will Smith, who plays Deadshot, has the same take and he had said way back in October that he never met Jared Leto during the six months of filming.

A popular story also did the rounds with relation to Jared's homework. He used to gift cast members special gifts according to their relationship with The Joker. Will Smith's Deadshot got bullets while Margot Robbie aka Harley Quinn received a dead rat. Leto had said that the exercise was a part of his preparation to go under the skin of the character.

Well, we appreciate his hard work and just cannot wait to see the delivery on screen.
