Where will GTA 6 bet set? When will it release? Will Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling lend voice? These are some questions that GTA fans are pondering and speculating about.

Reports from earlier this year suggested Rockstar decided on making the next edition of the game in Tokyo. Japan was a strong contender for what eventually went on to become Vice City. However, given the America-centric nature and identity that the game has assumed, locations outside the US would seem like a lot of work shadowed by uncertainty regarding the game's reception.

Among the bundle of ideas thrown around, a few are detailed and make an interesting pitch. One Reddit user, clearly an ardent GTA fan, provided an exhaustive description of plotline with a 70s settings.

"As the bounty hunter you need to gather intel on your targets, plan your route, know when to strike, and try to bring them in alive. Shooting people in this GTA isn't death sentence. You can take people down without killing them, without a shot to the arm or leg, a fistfight, or nonlethal means," wrote the user, along with providing sketches of three characters and opening music.

The idea stirred a discussion over whether Rockstar should consider going back in time to make its games. While many sounded approving of the idea others said a throwback in time is not fun.

Given the popularity of the series, which are all on based in the US expansion of first GTA game notwithstanding, the next GTA is likely to be set in the US. The game's release is unlikely to happen before 2017 if past release dates and time between launch of the games in the series considered.

Rumors that Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes will lend voice have been around for a while. Among the recent rumors of known people being featured in the game include that of Osama Bin Laden appearing. Reports have suggested that GTA 6 will feature a mission where the game's protagonist gets to kill the terrorist. None of this however has been officially confirmed by Rockstar.
