Leicester City might have been crowned as the champions of the English Premier League and they are rightly the subject of almost all football related discussions these days due to their stupendous achievement, however it needs to be pointed out that the Spanish La Liga is reaching a climax that is hasn't in many years with two of the biggest clubs fighting it out for the league title. Barcelona thrashed Espanyol 5-0 at the Camp Nou but their bitter rivals Real Madrid were not to be left behind as they won a thrilling tie against Valencia at the Santiago Bernabau 3-2 to remain a point behind the leaders with one game apiece left. Ronaldo scored two goals that took his total for the season to 49 goals.

Barcelona seemed to be on their way to sealing up the league title with a few game weeks remaining but after losing the El Clasico to Real Madrid, they dropped a futher six points to throw open the league for all the top teams but after Atletico's shock defeat to already relegated Levante today means that one the last day, the title could still go either to Barcelona or to Real. Real Madrid would be facing 13th placed Deportivo la Coruna on the last day while Barcelona will face 16th placed Granada in an away game as well. On paper, it might look straightforward clashes which both clubs are expected to win and if that happens then Barcelona would be crowned champions, but there is always the added nerves of a must win game that would certainly be working on the back of the minds of the players when they take to the field.

If Barcelona draw or worse still lose then Real Madrid would simply need to win their game in order to be crowned the champions of the La Liga this year and considering their scorching form over the past few weeks, one can be sure that they would make it very tough for Deportivo to take anything away from them.
