Manchester City are a club that are known to identify players and complete deals quickly, since first of all they have an excellent director of football and secondly they simply do not have to worry about the cost of the transfer thanks to the deep pockets of their owner, Sheikh Mansour of Abu Dhabi. However, things can get sticky for even Manchester City in some respects if there are certain reservations from the player in question and according to latest reports, the club might not be able to take Barcelona's goal keeper Marc Ter-Stegen to Manchester since the player simply does not wish to relocate to the city. Now, it needs to be mentioned that he does not have any special dislike for Manchester as a city but he thinks he would do his career a great service if he stayed at Barcelona and tried to fight his way into the first team squad ahead of the first choice goalkeeper Caludio Bravo.

Ter-Stegen is regarded as one of the best young goalkeepers in the world and over the past two seasons he has proven his worth for Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League, a tournament in which he is the designated keeper. However, the league is the real thing for most goalies since that is where they get to play day in and day out, but he has not been able to dislodge the hugely impressive Claudio Bravo from his position as Barcelona's preferred choice as the number 1 goalie. Manchester City's incoming manager Pep Guardiola wants the German goalie to be at the Eithad Stadium from the next season onwards since he is hugely impressed by his talent as a goalie but Joe Hart remains the numero uno at City, which is why Ter-Stegen's position would not change much.

Instead of moving to another club to perform the same role, the goalie now wants to stay back at Barcelona and bide his time, while impressing as much as he can in the games that he gets so that he can eventually become the number 1 at the Camp Nou. Additionally, Barcelona wants the player to extend his deal with assurances that he will get a bit mroe game time from next season.
