Luke Skywalker is probably the most beloved character in the long-running Star Wars franchise, a name that has become synonymous with cultural icon in the sci-fi movie series that continues to attract film worshippers across different generations.

Played by actor Mark Hamill, Skywalker had a very glorified albeit an insignificant cameo scene in the 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'. But recent reports point to the legendary Jedi assuming new powers which will be highlighted in the untitled sequel and eight installment to the franchise, Cinema Blend reports.

Also, a report churning out from rumor mill suggests that the now old Jedi Knight will demonstrate powers fans have never seen in previous film titles. If the rumors prove accurate, Sith's 'ability to shoot chain lightning at their targets' would look puny compared to Luke's power to burn things and make them explode in an amazing blast.

As the story goes, Kylo Ren arrives in planet Ach-To where Luke has been hiding. Back in the Force Awakens, we saw Rey handing over the old Jedi Knight's lightsaber. Upon Kylo Ren's arrival, the First Order Member got into a nasty conversation with Rey which did not sit well with the master. There won't be any cross-blade scene as most people would expect. What happens next is that Kylo will be getting a taste of the Luke's unseen Jedi powers.

According to Christian Today, Luke's temper has reached boiling point as Kylo and Rey just can't stop arguing inside the old master's hut. Luke's humble abode reportedly blew up without harming the two.

"A few weeks ago they blew up, specifically, blew apart, an Ahch-To hut. According to my source, Kylo and Rey have a conversation that Luke does not like. Luke tries to stop them. Luke gets angry...And the whole hut they are in disintegrates (re: 'blows up'). My source did not specify as to the exact cause of the disintegration, but based on the info I believe Luke accidentally (or perhaps even purposely) does so using the Force," said the anonymous Reddit source describing a scene recently.

However, this should be taken with a grain of salt for this revelation stays no more than a rumor until the final product comes out. If previous films are indicative of what the Jedi master can do, then it is safe to say that, for now, Luke uses the Force for mind manipulation, telekinesis, and the staple lightsaber fighting.
