Taylor Swift, the "Love Story" hitmaker, has a squeaky clean image and reputation in the industry. She doesn't smoke and there is no drug drama either. In fact, she waited until legal drinking age to even touch booze. So, what or who drives her discipline?

Her fans apparently.

Swift was one of Barbara Walters' 10 Most Fascinating People of 2014 and in an interview with Walters, Swift revealed she never stepped out of character because she didn't want to set the wrong example or let her fans down.

"I did wait until I was 21 to drink. I was so paranoid about getting in trouble or setting the wrong example or sending the wrong message," she said, according to Hollywoodlife.com.

"That's the reality. If I do something reckless or thoughtless or careless, or I treat someone badly, that doesn't just affect me; it affects that person. Then, if that story gets out, or some 10-year-old sees that I did that in a news article... my actions do have ripples," she continued.

Swift also added that she likes the way she live her life and doesn't think she is missing out on any kind of fun.

"It's kind of nice thing to keep you in check to live a good life. It's not like some gilded golden cage that people make it out to be. Living your life the 'right way' and trying to make 'good decisions' is not necessarily some horrible penalty," Swift said.

The "Shake it off" hitmaker also added that her fans help her block out the abnormality in her life and make her feel sane.

However, Swift added that she has a certain wild side to herself.

"I mean, I do drink, I am 25. So it's not like, I mean... Yeah, I was at a Knicks game and I had a beer and everybody was like, 'Ohhh!' I was like, 'Tsk.'" Swift shared.
