Google's 2013 flagship Nexus 5 smartphone is nearing its end as the company has no plans to manufacture additional units.

Google's 2013 smartphone flagship, the Nexus 5, has neared its end as Google calls time out on the one-year-old handset. The news of the smartphone's retirement comes from TechRadar, which has mapped Nexus 5's availability only till the first quarter of 2015, after originally reporting that the stock will not be replenished after they run out on Google Play Store.

Google cleared the air saying the Nexus 5 will be available for shoppers during the first three months of 2015. So, those who wish to get Nexus 6's younger sibling must act fast with an expected scarcity of the device in the coming months. As of now, both 16GB and 32GB versions of the Nexus 5 smartphone are still listed as unavailable in the Google Play Store but shoppers can grab the handset from third-party retailers.

For India shoppers, the Nexus 5 smartphone is available for purchase through Flipkart, Amazon.in and Snapdeal. All three retailers have varying prices, while Snapdeal is currently giving the best deal at Rs. 25, 486.  For buyers in the U.S., Amazon.com is offering the smartphone for $509 for an unlocked version. The smartphone can also be bought through national carriers and retail stores in the U.S.

To refresh your memory about the Nexus 5 specs, it sports a 5-inch Full HD IPS display, 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 procesor, Adreno 330 graphics, 8MP rear camera and 1.3MP front shooter. It is fitted with a 2,300mAh battery to keep the device running for up to 17 hours on talk time or 7 hours on LTE. Nexus 5 also supports wireless charging and comes in 16GB and 32GB options.
