One look at the "X-Men: Apocalypse" trailer and the fans started to wonder if Hugh Jackman has been replaced from the movie. The last scene of the film showed arms and claws of Wolverine, the ones that didn't seem to belong to Jackman himself. To add fuel to the fire were the recent comments of the movie director, Bryan Singer, "Make of that what you want. I will say, it's not simple," Bryan Singer said in an interview. "There's something more pivotal that occurs with that."

The "X-Men: Apocalypse" director also said that the Wolverine scene that was shown in the teaser is similar to the past X-Men movies and gives a brand new direction for the fabulous character. Singer added that Wolverine's role is a lot more than just a cameo and is by no standards insignificant.

Such statements from Singer have only led fans to believe that the only reason why no face or body of the Wolverine actor were shown in the movie was because there is a new actor being cast in the movie. Hugh Jackman, who has played the character of Wolverine for the last 16 years, has announced already that "Wolverine 3" will be his last appearance in the series. The the latest instamment in the series will be directed by James Mangold and will star Patrick Stewart as Professor X, according to latest reports.

It is not entirely unheard of for two different actors to play the same character across different platforms. Just like Patrick Stewart is Professor X in "Wolverine 3," and James McAvoy is playing the same character in Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse." Similarly, this is also possible for the Wolverine actor to be different in both the movies.
