Bethesda has quite changed the open-world game Fallout 4 in many ways barely four months into the year. So far, the company has rolled free updates to fix bugs and install new features. Two DLCs have been added, namely Automatron, and the Wasteland Workshop available for consoles and PC. And of course, a much bigger add-on unlike anything gamers have ever seen is expected to arrive soon, the Far Harbor DLC.

Currently, Fallout 4 1.5 update has just been rolled out. In the previous 1.4 patch, new items were brought in for settlements plus a load of support for the newly released DLC expansion packs, Gotta Be Mobile reported.

So, what can be expected from the Fallout 4's 1.5 update?

Bethesda has always tried to be make Fallout 4 a smooth gaming experience for gamers as much as possible. To optimize gameplay, the company has added some changes based on beta feedback. One of the most key changes the update brings to the game is the revamped Survival Mode. Here's a quick summary of the new features under the 1.5 patch update as per Bethesda Community:

1. New Survival difficulty.

2. Survival adds additional challenges including no fast travel, saving only when you sleep, increased lethality, diseases, fatigue, danger and more. See the in-game Help menu for more details.

3. Characters set to Survival difficulty appear under their own Character Selection filter.

4. Third person camera movement improvements when player is close up against walls and other objects.

Despite Bethesda's sincere efforts to weed out multiple concerns that stand in the way of optimal gaming, some problems remain mainly issues pertaining to Fallout 4 mods, Survival mode problems, various bugs, crashes, and a slew of other unexplained issues.

Nevertheless, other gamers seemed to have found a way to fix problems related to Fallout 4's PC mods. Here's a two-method quick fix as suggested by other gamers as quoted directly from Design & Trend.

Method 1: Adding an Asterisk

1) Open "plugins.txt" that's located at C: > Users > [Your Profile] > App Data > Local > Fallout 4. This can be done using Notepad.

2) In the document there should be .esp or .esm mods listed. (For example BrighterSettlementLights or Advanced Settlement Power.) Simply put an asterisk (*) before every mod in the list and save it. "*Advanced Settlement Power.esp" is just one example.

3) Optional: Right click on "plugins.txt" and hit Properties. Under the General tab, set the attribute to "Read-Only." NOTE: Doing this can cause problems for those that use Bethesda's official mod selector.

4) Run "Fallout 4" PC via Steam as opposed to Nexus Mod Manager.

Method 2: Nexus Mods Refresh

1) Delete all "Fallout 4" mods in Nexus Mod Manager.

2) Load the game cleanly (with no mods) and save it.

3) Update Nexus Mod Manager and reinstall the required mods.

4) Optional: If the above steps don't work, try reinstalling Nexus Mod Manager and starting over

In a related development, Fallout 4 mods in console gaming platforms may arrive soon. Xbox One is slated to get the mods in May while PS4 is expected to receive it in June.
