Since November 2015, Seth Rollins has been absent from wrestling scene following a knee injury. But the latest roundups suggest Rollins' highly anticipated return at Chicago's Payback event on Sunday for a surprising in-ring action.

It seems like he's finally bound for a comeback as convincing yet unconfirmed evidence of his forthcoming return starts flying across rumor land. As reported by Daily Wrestling News, the former WWE Heavyweight champion was seen backstage in the AT&T Stadium for WrestleMania 32. If his backstage presence is of any indication, he might come back for refreshing presence in Payback.

Many sports and entertainment observers do not expect him to be immediately featured in the ring just yet as WWE officials are still trying to figure out the most suitable storyline that will explain his return.

The 29-year-old architect of the Shield went under the knife in order to repair his right knee beset with a torn ACL, MCL, and medial meniscus. Doctors advised him to get at least 6 to 9 months of rest to recover. However, an update from Sports Rageous suggest that he has just received medical clearance to get back to training.

According to Sportskeeda, Rollins maybe allowed to return sometime around SummerSlam after he completed his training. Rumors also indicate that he may not be featured in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship scene which could mean that Roman Reigns may still have the upper hand.

While his return angle has not yet been officially confirmed there are wild speculations making rounds lately in the wrestling world such helping The Authority take back their control from Shane-O-Mac following the chaotic McMahon Family Feud, assaulting Roman Reigns, or winning back the Money in the Bank contract as per Fansided report.

Meanwhile, a possible reunion of The Shield may mark Rollins return which could run into problems with other stables like the new WWE entrant 'Bullet Club' composed of Finn Balor, Doc Gallows, and Karl Anderson.
