The season could very well be very over for Memphis point guard Mike Conley but it could his last donning the Grizzlies uniform as well. Swirling rumors in the basketball land suggest Conley might have to jump board another ship as the free agency season kicks off this summer. There are multiple reports of several NBA teams putting him under their talent radar.

Toward the end of the season, Conley seemed forced to sit out and there are chances of him not getting back on the Memphis roster although the point guard seems cool with the idea. But if the Grizzlies GM's recent statement of guaranteeing him of a re-sign with the team is of any indication, he might as well stay. But Conley hints that he may not buy Chris Wallace's offer right away unless the general manager could turn things around in the franchise.

As of this time, many pundits consider Conley as the best point guard in the free agency market which makes him a viable talent acquisition target for New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets. His remarks last Monday indicated pressure on Wallace's part to take huge steps to turn Memphis into a credible title contender following a loss to San Antonio in the first round of the playoffs.

"We need to be committed to doing the things, whatever it may be and however hard the decision may be, to do the right things in order to get us where we need to go," said Conley as quoted by New York Post. "This summer will be a fun one for me. Free agency is new for me. We'll see how it goes."

Although Conley feels the need to seek a max contract, there could be other factors to consider. Currently, New York Knicks have been very keen in getting him into the fold even suggesting him for a more lucrative pay than what Memphis could offer.

"This city is all I know. I've grown up here. But I understand it's a business and that can be the hard part," remarked Conley as he responded to queries regarding the Knicks offer and rumors of departure from Memphis, Morning Ledger reported.

"I don't think any of us are underpaid. But I have done a lot in even the last contract. I probably outplayed that one. So I know that I've been working very hard to achieve an even better one. That's something I'm looking forward to. I'm trying to establish that while I'm still in my prime."

As per Inquisitr report, a point guard of Conley's ability and prowess is a must-have for the Knicks as they seek to re-build the team in an effort to strengthen their position in the conference next season using Triangle Offense as Phil Jackson recommended.

"Mike Conley could be someone who can help the Knicks in a variety of ways. He is an excellent defender and play maker. Conley would be able to contain the opposing team's guard. He would be able to help on the offensive end of the floor. Conley would help Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis find better shots. He has the ability to get his own shots and penetrate the paint," wrote Jack Windham of the Inquisitr.
