German-born and seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher is reportedly deviating from recovery following a severe injury while on a winter vacation in the Swiss Alps.

Although fans are aching to get every scoop of information they could regarding his condition, updates of his medical status remain scarce. If the latest rumor proves accurate, then it is certainly not the kind of news everyone would love to hear.

As per BitBag report, an unnamed reliable insider source has reportedly said that the F1 racing icon's condition has seriously deteriorated over the past months. The insider scoop happened to have come from the horse's mouth, the neurosurgeon purportedly involved in Schumacher's medical case. The doctor pointed out that his slim chance of survival now rests on a 'miracle'.

The insider's dire assessment of the legendary racer's condition somehow contradicted earlier claims by the champ's manager and spokesperson, Sabine Kehm, who previously mentioned that Schumacher is 'making progress'.

For fans and observers alike, the latest report seems a little more credible given absolute silence coming from the racer's family and closest associates over his condition.

Corroborating the purported insider source's claim was a similar statement coming from Ferrari team's former head, Luca di Montezemolo, who recently stated that he managed to get some news of the German F1 driver's condition but admitted that it wasn't good to hear.

"I have news and unfortunately it is not good", di Montezemolo stated without elaborating further as per Blasting News update.

Meanwhile, Kehm recently made a rare update about Schumacher just before the start of an exhibition in Marburg, Germany. Her seemingly woeful statement was aimed at reminding people and fans of his monumental contribution to racing.

"He is the most successful driver in history and sometimes, on days like this, it is good to be reminded of it. Of course, Michael is not here and of course we miss him. We know what has happened and cannot change it," said Kehm as quoted by The Telegraph.

"We must accept it and hope with everything we have that with continued support and patience he will one day be back with us. Racing was his life and no one would have liked to have been here more than him."
