Samsung Galaxy Note 6 could essentially ring the death knoll for the Edge+ variants that South Korean phone maker introduced last year.

Numerous reports have claimed that two versions differing by display type are under tests; the phone marker is reportedly not certain if it should release Note 6 with a flat or curved display. Hence both devices are being tested. Should Samsung opt to release Note 6 with a curved with edge display, this could signal the end of the Edge + variants that Samsung launched last with coved edge displays as Samsung will only launch one of these devices.

A few however speculated that Samsung could launch both the devices just to cover every price option. The reports also suggested that Note 6 could feature a 5.8-inch screen with QHD resolution, similar to the Note 5. Those hoping Samsung would introduce 4K screen have to hold their horses. The PPI of the screen is however likely to be slightly lower than the 5.7-inch Note 5.

A Snapdragon 823 chipset with 64-bit processor could be powering the US variant while Samsung could also be powering devices with its own Exynos chip. Samsung could bump up the RAM significantly on the phablet. Rumors suggest the Note 6 could launch with 6GB RAM but have not ruled out as much as 8GB being included.

If speculation proves true, Samsung could launch the Samsung Note 6 could launch with 4,000 mAh battery. The Note 5 was launched with 3,000 mAH battery that proved inadequate for many purposes. The new Samsung Note 6 is expected to have more space for a bigger battery.

The Note 6 is expected to release with the 12 MP camera that Samsung featured in Galaxy S7, reports suggested.
