Montenegrin striker Stevan Jovetic was regarded as a marquee signing for Manchester City back in 2013 when he joined the club for a fee of around £23 million after a prolific season for Fiorentina in the Italian Serie A but his time at the Etihad stadium has been plagued by injuries and frequent loss of form. After spending two seasons he was sent on loan to Italian club Inter Milan and after enjoying a good season with the Milanese club, he is now wanted by Chelsea according to latest reports in the Daily Star.

Jovetic has been one of the most important players in Inter Milan's team in 2015-16 as the team looks took to finish in the top half of the league table and if the team had not had a woeful run of form post the winter break then the Roberto Mancini managed team might have had the chance of actually winning the Serie A title. His time at Manchester City was not exactly fruitless either and during his two fractured seasons in English top flight football, he scored a total of 11 goals across all competitions and the fact that he has been sent out on loan proves that the powers that be at Manchester City do believe that the player has a future at the club.

City are going to build a fresh forward line and it seems that the player is not in Pep Guardiola's plans for the future. However, Chelsea's new manager Antonio Conte is thought to be a long time admirer of the forward right from the time when Jovetic used to ply his trade at Fiorentina in the Serie A and is interested in bringing him to Stamford Bridge in the summer. Jovetic currently earns a salary of £90,000 per wekk and Chelsea would have no trouble in matching that or even increasing it if the player demands so. A transfer fee has not been decided but it is expected that a deal should go through the smoothly if the reports are to be believed.
