Arsenal's English midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is regarded as one of the most promising footballers in the English Premier League but he has not made the sort of progress that manager Arsena Wenger would have liked and according to latest reports he might be on his way to another London club in order to realise his potential. According to reports published by the British publication The Daily Mirror, Arsenal have offered fellow London club West Ham United the opportunity to buy the player who is highly regarded by most key figures in English football and a deal could be in the works in the summer. Although the midfielder is injured at the moment, it is not a serious enough injury that could derail a possible move and considering the fact that West Ham would be playing at a much larger stadium next year, they would like to have a fair sprinkling of stardust in the squad in order to attract crowds.

Arsene Wenger is planning a clear out of the squad in the summer in order to build a far more competitive squad and it seems that Oxlade-Chamberlain is one of the players who he thinks is no longer a part of his plans. The player is in competition with the likes of Alexis Sanchez for a place in the side and the emergence of young Nigerian Alex Iwobi has made his position even more problematic. The player simply would not get enought playing time in the first eleven next season and hence a switch to a club that would be able to offer him regular playing time is in the interest of both parties.

On the other hand, a move back to his old club Southampton FC could also be a possibility and he has been urged to come back by former Saints player and club legend Matt Le Tissier. He was quoted as saying. "He's a very good player. He's obviously suffered with injuries in the last couple of seasons so he's not really been a regular in that Arsenal side. If the boy wants to play regular first team football and to be a first choice in the team then sure it's realistic. It's not like he'd be dropping down to the bottom half of the table."
