Samsung may not be working on an Edge variant of the Galaxy S6 as new reports suggest a separate model to accompany the S6 launch.

There are several rumors about the next Samsung flagship and people are already hoping to see a spinoff version of the Galaxy S6 with Galaxy Note Edge-like design. Sadly, a new report from SamMobile has poured cold water on the existence of the so-called Galaxy S6 Edge. This means a Galaxy S6 with a curved edge is not in the books.

While the new report suggests only one Samsung flagship next year, SamMobile went on to clarify that the Galaxy S6 will be accompanied by another phone, just not the Edge. Undoubtedly, Samsung Galaxy S6 is going to be amazing on its own, but a partner product is also getting equal heat. Consumers are looking to see what Samsung brings to the tablet this time after their hopes were shattered with the minute development seen in the Galaxy S5 smartphone earlier this year.

If the rumors and leaked reports are any indication, Samsung has more than one smartphone in the works that are ready to take the market by storm. The Korean tech giant is putting its best foot forward with its upcoming flagship as the company's head for UK and Ireland said in an interview with Forbes, "The S5 slowdown was inevitable to some extent, and the future for Samsung will lie in its new ideas, and R&D."

At this time, there are minimal details about the accompanying smartphone that will launch with the Galaxy S6, but there are several reports confirming the possible specs in the S6.

According to an earlier report from PhoneArena, the Galaxy S6 will sport a QHD display, Samsung's Exynos 7420 64-bit Octa-Core CPU, 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage with its camera featuring 20-megapixels. Besides this, the smartphone is likely to come with a metal unibody to attract consumers after ditching the plastic finish for its Alpha series.
