It is often said that the Golden State Warriors is nothing without Stephen Curry and the defending NBA champion would get worse without their famous three-point shooter. However, such statement is pretty much a relative term now as the team proved that they're good enough to take care of business on the hardcourt against their Houston challenger, the Rockets with Curry.

With their recent Monday's 115-106 Game 2 win over the Rockets, the Warriors now has a 2-0 playoff series over their court opponent. Meanwhile, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is adamant to keep the reigning MVP off the court for Game 3 as Curry is currently nursing his health back after a knee injury.

"We'll see how he responds the next couple of days, and if he's not right, obviously being up 2-0 does give us more cushion if we decide to sit him. But it will be based on his health, not the series score," Kerr said as quoted by ESPN.

The champion's head coach noted further, "We'd never want to put winning ahead of a player's career and his health. We've seen teams do that and paid for it. Players have paid for it in the past. So we want to make sure Steph is right and his [ankle] is fine and healthy."

Meanwhile, Warriors' supporting cast incredibly did a good deal of job of raining down points to outscore the Rockets which obviously struggled on the court with their weak defense. Klay Thompson, Andrew Bogut, Andre Iguodala, and Daymond Green have all played their best in Game 2 at Curry's recent omission as per Bleacher Report.  Teammates hope to have him back in their Thursday game against the Rockets at Houston, Texas.

In a separate note, all-time three-pointer Ray Allen hinted that the Stephen Curry might be his successor as the 'greatest NBA shooter' in his recent interview with Slam Magazine.

"I think he has to be - he's on his way to being the best ever... Myself, Reggie Miller, Kyle Korver, Klay Thompson - we play a different game. We're shooters. We come off screens, pindowns - Steph can do that, but he's creating a different lane. Point guards haven't been able to do what he's been able to do, because he's mixing that 2 guard-ish in there with having the great handles of a point guard," said Allen as quoted in part by Business Insider.

The NBA three-pointer legend continued saying, "When I broke the three-point record, they (Steph and Klay) watched that and it became something they said in their mind, this is what I want to do. Now, there are kids watching him, saying I want to work on these things, I want to be just like Steph."
