Chelsea's appalling title defence in 2015-16 that saw the club flirting with relegation and also resulted in the sacking of their much loved Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho, will result in a major shake up of the first team squad in the summer. Many players who have underperformed are on their way out of the club as new manager Antonio Conte looks for the right mix as he prepares the club for a proper title challenge and Brazilian midfielder Oscar seems to be one of the first players who could be heading out of Stamford Bridge this summer.

Oscar, who had been a big part of Chelsea's title winning team of 2014-15 was not able to reach the same heights in the 2015-16 campaign and found himself out of reckoning for a first team spot even when previous manager Jose Mourinho was in charge at Stamford Bridge. The situation has not changed under the management of interim manager Guus Hiddin and in the game against Swansea the previous weekend he found himself in the bench as youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek was preferred over him for the holding midfield role. He did not start in the latest game against Manchester City either in which the Blues crashed to an embarrassing 0-3 defeat at home.

Oscar has drawn interest from the Chinese league but the proposals were snubbed and also got into a training ground fight with striker Diego Costa earlier in the season. Overall he has had a miserable season and is looking for regular football at a European club. Conte has not promised him any playng time and with the sort of players that the club are trying to bring in, it will be tough for him to make a comeback into the fold at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have been in pursuit of Paul Pogba and are willing to listen to offers for Oscar along with a host of other players as they try to raise the money that would be able finance the near £80 million bid for the Juventus and France star.
