Pokefans will be saddened to learn that their favorite game, "Pokémon Z," has been put on hold so that the company can recalibrate their focus on other games from the franchise. This news is especially disappointing as 2016 was its 20th anniversary.

In fact, the game enthusiasts were anticipating that the game will be launched during Nintendo's Direct event. However, the event came and went with no news about Pokémon Z. The company instead launched other titles and moved on.

In 2013, "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" came out and became an instant success. Since then, the fans have been looking forward to get their hands on the next installment, "Pokémon Z," that seemed to have bit the dirt at the moment. Even the game's development has been cancelled at the moment. The reason for this change has been attributed to Nintendo's plans for releasing "Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon."

Even though the reports suggest that the game has indeed been axed and will not be released, these speculations should not be taken seriously until an official announcement has been made by the company. It is important to note that Nintendo 3DS platform has already mentioned a release date for "Pokémon Z" in 2016.

There is still no word on the official release of "Pokémon Z" and the fans are hoping that cancellation rumors are just that, rumors. However, not all is lost for the Pokémon lovers as Nintendo introduced "Pokémon Go," an augmented reality game playable on iOS and Android.
