According to recent reports, the discussed aspect that the gamers are taking about is the remake of Resident Evil 2 which was received really well by the fans in its early years. It was noted that since Capcom is planning a remake, it is highly possible that Resident Evil 7 will come out this year.

Rumors also indicate that Resident Evil 7 may be announced during E3 event and may even be released in the same year. However, Capcom immediately put these speculations to rest by saying that there is indeed a Resident Evil 2 in the making that is slated to release sometime this year.

Franchise fans should also note that both Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 didn't do too well for the series. However, RE 7's plot was planned with these two installments. Capcom says that they want to bring back the horror aspect of the game that was eliminated from the series in the previous installments.

News reports also suggest that the latest installment of the game series will bring William Birkin and nemesis back to reinforce the horror story. These characters were a tough fight in the previous games and will be a welcome addition to the new RE series boss fight. However, whether or not they will come back in RE 7 remains unconfirmed.

So far there has not been announcement by Capcom about Resident Evil 7, let alone launch it within this year. Capcom advised the fans to not take all these rumors too seriously until official information about the game has been rolled out.
