'Sleepy Hollow' Season 3 News Update: Appalling Twist with Death of Abbie in Finale

The grand finale of Sleepy Hollow season three was aired by Fox.

According to reports, the social media reacted to the unexpected appalling twist that arose between the characters Ichabod Crane and Abbie Mills.

Abbie steps into the Pandora's Box to save the world from the autocracy of the Hidden one. Ichabod summons the Headless Horseman in order to stop the Pandora and succeeds in doing so. However the success resulted from the Headless horseman taking the blow for it. Ichabod then recollects the tenure he had with his partner and mourns his loss before bidding goodbye. Nevertheless, he doesn't accept defeat and strives on the journey to find the next witness.

Show runner Clifton Campbell in an interview elaborated on why Abbie's character, played by Nicole Beharie, had to come to an abrupt end. He explained about how the character was dead and therefore she would no longer remain in association with the show. He revealed on how working with her was a delight. She was essential to the storyline and heightened the mythological element that the show thrives on. He talked about how the demise of one character reflects on another character, thereby allowing the story to progress.

Beharie when asked claimed that it was wonderful working on Sleepy Hollow. She is said to have loved playing the character. Unfortunately, her part in the show had to come to an end. Nonetheless, she is said to be excited about what the show has in store for the viewers which includes her as well.

Fox is said to have also announced that they are pleased with the closure they gave to Abbie's character which was emotional and well deserved. They thanked Beharie for instilling life in the show and to for the magic she brought to her character. The producers revealed that the renewal of the contract for the next season is still unknown. However, they had an interesting plotline in store for the viewers and were eager to explore some untapped avenues.
