NBA Rumors: Jimmy Butler Trade To Lakers Pushed By Chicago Bulls?
The playoffs are on. For some teams, the race toward the highly coveted NBA title has just fueled the intensity of hardcourt drama. For teams that failed to reach the playoffs, a desperate climate for change is sending some franchises into deep soul-searching and a need for immense rebuilding.
Chicago Bulls happens to be one of those teams facing an enormous challenge ahead. The future looks quite uncertain. The team once dominated the league in the 90's-often referred to as the Michael Jordan era. Without that luster they previously enjoyed, the team is inevitably going for a major shake-up.
In fact, some fans are behind a proposal that's currently circulating online about trading Jimmy Butler to the LA Lakers.
As reported by Yibada, it's probably time to let go of Butler despite the fact that the team have placed enormous investment in his talent and toughness as per former coach Tom Thibodeau's wisdom. But when Fred Hoiberg succeeded him, his relationship with the star player became strained. Hoiberg revamped the team's gameplay with his preference for faster offensive much to Butler's dismay.
In another roundup, other rumors point to Butler and another Bulls player Derrick Rose not getting along on the court which hamper the ability of the team to seamlessly operate with effective offense.
Inquisitr, on the other hand, seems to offer a more realistic explanation of trading both Butler and Rose. The athletes' playing style simply does not fit to the Bulls' gameplay. Furthermore, Chicago may need to unload expensive veterans to shake up its roster to adjust its cap and reload fresh add-ons in the offseason.
"If the Bulls want real change, making a bold trade might be the answer. However, it's been a long time since they were even open to a major trade, let alone consummating one," remarked Basketball Insiders sports writer Steve Kyler.
