American Idol is ending tonight! After 15 seasons of entertaining the world and bringing very talented musicians to the stage, the show is finally coming to an end with a big, sentimental showdown that will broadcast tonight.

The finale is a celebration of everything the show stands for and will include big names from its past to emphasize its legacy to the American music industry. Over 60 finalists from past seasons are expected to take their places on stage at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood to exhibit their gratitude and love for the arena that gave them their first brush with fame.

In addition to old finalists, old hosts are also making an appearance tonight. Brian Dunkleman will co-host the show with Ryan Seacrest. The executive producer of the show, Nigel Lythgoe, has hinted that all the show's past favourites will perform either individually or in group performances during the finale, and according to reports, there are other star surprises in store as well. This might also include the usual crowd pleaser where all participants dress in white to render a very sentimental song which in this case is Barry Manilow's One Voice from his album that bears the same name.

Performances by the extremely popular William Hung and the show's original judges, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson are also lined up for tonight. Needless to say, all the winners of past seasons will be present along with their peers to perform group numbers dedicated to David Bowie and other stalwarts of world music. Surprisingly, the show will not include a tribute to the late Michael Johns, a 2007 Idol finalist, who passed away in 2014.

While big names like Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and David Cook are definitely in the loop, old finalists like Alex Presto n, Angie Miller and Syesha Mercado will not be making an appearance. The other performers who will grace the stage tonight include Clark Beckham, Chris Daughtry, David Archuleta, Candice Glover, Casey James, Kris Allen, Caleb Johnson, Clay Aiken, Brandon Rogers, Oscar winner Jessica Hudson and a multitude of other stars. This finale is all set to stand the test of time!
