Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: Specs, Features and Release Date

Samsung at the Mobile world congress at Barcelona this year unveiled their new flagships, teh S7 an the S7 edge. As usual, this is now maybe a trend for most manufacturers to release two variants of the smartphones with Apple leading the suite and others just following it.

Back then when Apple did the same, Samsung replicated the same formula with two phones at the previous launch. Samsung continued with launching two phones this year too with launching the samsung S7 and samsung galaxy S7 edge. There will no Samsung Galaxy S7 edge+ this year since it's been confirmed by Samsung this year since they are now concentrating on focusing about marketing these two phones right now and maybe those are signs that there won't be a Note sequel release right away.

The S7 edge come with a 5.9 inch size with weighing about 157grams secured by Corning Gorilla glass 4 on both sides of the phones. Now corning gorilla glasses are only scratch-proof and not break-proof. The phone comes either with a single sim or a dual sim both being nano-sim standards. The fingerprint sensor are verified by Visa and Mastercard. The Phone is IP68 certified which means now it's both dust and water-proof with resistance upto 30minutes in water or about one and a-half metre in the water.

In terms of display, AMOLED screens are dominated in Samsung phones with a 5.5 inch 534PPI display with always-on display and a Touchwiz UI skin on top of the operating system. The curved edge display has now more features than what's seen in the previous edition. In terms of operating system, the phone is powered by Android's latest operating system Marshmallow 6.0 with a qualcoom MSM8996 that's the SnapDragon 820 processor octa-core 3.5ghz or a quad-core 3.9ghz both variants. Adreno 530 or Mali-T880 MP12 gpu chips supporting the phone while the phone is run by 4GB RAM.

In terms of camera, a 12MP rear sensor is equipped with an f/1.7 aperture along with OIS and LED flash capable of shooting 4K videos at 30fps and the front facing camera is powered by a 5MP sensor capable of auto-HDR Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and AC bands are present in the phone and bluetooth v4.2 connectivity along with NFC chips present in-phone. The phone is still coming with a Micro-USB v2.0 port. Samsung? Really?!! It's 2016 and no USB-Type C port is a massive let down.

The phone also comes with a heart-rate sensor also supports fast-charging with quick charge 2.0. Qi charging is also present with market dependant variants in different regions. Samsung are also complimenting their users by throwing about 115GB free storage on OneDrive. The phone is juiced by a massive 3600mah non-removable li-ion battery.
