The world is buzzing with conflicting opinions about Batman v Superman after it suffered a 68 per cent drop in its second week at the box office. Immediately after this news was made public, rumors regarding Suicide Squad reshoots began to circulate at a very fast rate.

According to reports, a multimillion dollar reshoots are scheduled to happen in order to include humour. As the reason for the lukewarm response to Batman v Superman attributed to the film being too dark, the reshoots seem to be an attempt by DC to take precautions with their next release.

Harley Quinn portrayed by Margo Robbie is the main source of dark humour in the movie, which is slated to be violent but hilarious. Robbie already looks the part in a t-shirt that says "Daddy's Little Monster" and wide, insane grin in place. Earlier, Collider had reported that the jokes shown in the trailer include all the humour there is in the movie, but the makers are including a few more scenes that will add levity to the plot which revolves around a group of super villains.

Considering that levity did not work for DC when they made Green Lantern, adding more comic scenes to the movie might be nothing more than a calculated risk.

The claim has been rubbished by Twitter users who claim that the reshoots were planned beforehand and were not a consequence of the reviews Batman v Superman received. The reason is attributed to the star Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje who plays the role of Killer Croc. The star is reported to have had scheduling issues owing to which he could not attend a few shoots. These scenes need to be reshot in order to include his character, making it necessary to work on the same scenes again. The tone of the movie is reported to remain unchanged.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros has not come forward to issue a statement that supports or refutes the rumors.
