Guardians of the Galaxy 2 director, James Gunn, in an unprecedented turn of events, has hinted at an Avengers-Guardian crossover, on social media.

This happened while replying to a fan on Twitter who asked about the missing cosmic heroes in Captain America: Civil War and the director said that it is because they are currently in a different galaxy. His saying was interpreted as a hint that the part two of Guardians might cross over with Avengers: Infinity War.

However, this post being a hint is still questionable. When another fan asked about the galaxy the superheroes are guarding and if it was Milky Way or some other, Gunn replied it was Andromeda.

Remarkably, the fans have been speculating for a long time about this crossover and director James Gunn had given some clarification on this matter after the release of Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014.

As per the reports, Gunn had said that he had a talk with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and others on the topic. The director was not very keen on a crossover and wanted the Guardian superheroes to keep a distance from the Avengers. Gunn was of the opinion that the MCU is quite huge and there is no need to make it smaller. Rather, they should focus on making it bigger.

He had categorically said that all the associated people had agreed on one point which was to keep the larger parts of the two separate. The intermingling of Marvel heroes of the earth and Guardians would have reduced the MCU, thereby, defeating the purpose which was to make it bigger. However, the director did say that nothing was officially decided regarding the future of the Guardians and their crossover.

Earlier, other reports had also surfaced which showed the non-inclination of Gunn to include the Avengers. He is known to focus on his own film and thus, this likelihood of crossover is a little far-fetched. But then, only time will tell what materializes at the end.
