Kpop News: YG Entertainment confirmed Minzy of 2ne1 will permanently leave the group

Ahead of so many rumors scattering about the disbandment of the girl group 2ne1 and the leaving of its member Minzy, YG Entertainment has finally released a statement of the whole rumors.

YG Entertainment has set to make official announcements, April 5 regarding 2ne1's disbandment rumors and Gong Minzy leaving the group.

YG Entertainment officially confirmed that Minzy is permanently leaving the group, stating, "We first apologize to the 2ne1 fans who have been patiently waiting and for delivering an unfortunate news to everyone. We are making an official announcement that 2ne1's maknae Minzy will no longer be a part of 2ne1."

The agency detailed, "With the end of 2ne1's contract with YG coming up on May 5, 2016, we met with the 2ne1 members this past January to discuss their intentions about resigning. However, Minzy, expressed her intentions that were different from the group."

YG Entertainment also announced that there will be a comeback for the remaining members CL, Park Bom and Dara this summer. The label stated, "The remaining members have resigned, and they're preparing for a new song release this summer as 2NE1. We are not looking for an additional member to replace Minzy."

2NE1 first debuted on 2009 and continued to rise its stardom not only in Kpop scene but to the rest of the world.
