Sherlock' Season 4 News and Spoilers: 'Bittersweet' Sherlock' Season 4 to be aired on BBC One in early 2017

PBS President Paula Kerger revealed at the 2016 Television Critics Association's (TCA) Winter Press Tour that "Sherlock" series 4 will definitely come out with a tentative release date on January 2017. PBS network airs the show in the United States.

Accepting his award for Best Supporting Actor at the London theatre Oliviers, Mark Gatiss confirmed the start date in the short video below, telling Magic FM that the new series is likely to arrive on BBC One in early 2017 and that its flavour would be "Bittersweet. It's always bittersweet", reported the Den of Geek.

BBC's Sherlock Season 4 has started filming. The first announcement came from Amanda Abbington (Mary Watson) through Twitter. Show co-creator and writer Mark Gatiss took to Twitter to tease fans about the development in the drama led by Benedict Cumberbatch by tweeting 'Filming of "Sherlock" season 4 may have commenced.'

Cultbox reported that "Sherlock" Season 4 has begun filming and actress Amanda Abbington who plays the role of Mary Watson confirms the news on Twitter. IB Times, in other news, added that the upcoming Season 4 would be tougher and darker in tone when compared to earlier seasons.
