“Descendants of the Sun” News: Korean Drama “Descendants of the Sun” Writer's Gross Earning Surging

Because of the enormous fandom of the Korean Wave "Descendants of the Sun", fans and viewers of the drama become so curious of the inside event of the drama with its actors to producers and writers.

The writer of the drama, Kim Eun Sook is very famous for her magnificent work in most Korean dramas like "Lovers in Paris" (2004), On Air (2008), "Secret Garden" (2010), "The Heirs" (2013) and recently "Descendants of the Sun" (2016)

In an episode of Channel A's "Heard It Through the Grapevine," on March 28, the reporters had a conversation regarding the writer Kim Eun Sook and her talent fee.

A reporter commented, "Writer Kim Eun Sook started writing dramas after she graduated college at a producer friend's suggestion.

At the time, she made 700,000 won (approximately $600) per month." Since then, writer Kim Eun Sook has specialized her talent in writing several hit dramas and currently, she is now regarded as one of the best top drama writers in this industry.

Many are assuming that she is now receiving 30 million won (approximately $26,000) per episode for her present work in "Descendants of the Sun."

Well, other reporter said that it may be far better off high as 70 million won to 80 million won (approximately $60,000 to $69,000) per episode.

"Descendants of the Sun" is having an incredible success in China and around the world. The TV drama is starting star Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-Kyo.
