This year, Samsung released the highly anticipated Galaxy S7 with a slew of features and specs that got many tech buffs excited. With the forthcoming Galaxy Note 6, observers expect a little more exciting upgrade of its Note 5 predecessor.

As of press time, Galaxy Note 6 is purportedly slated for an August release around the same time when Note 5 completes its 12-month market cycle. While awaiting confirmation from the South Korean electronics giant, new rumors suggest an earlier release of the upcoming device around the middle of July.

According to International Business Times, Galaxy Note 6 will be the last handset model from the Note lineup to be launched in the market later this year. If this news is of any indication of what to expect from the highly anticipated release, the phablet is likely to increase the fans growing expectations.

Based on a report by Nashville Chatter Class, the following upgrades are largely expected from the latest Note-series gadget.

Screen Size

The trend for most high-end smartphones is to go larger with Galaxy S7 Edge shifting from 5.1-inch display to a wider 5.5-inch screen. Galaxy Note 6 might even come in with a slightly bigger AMOLED display of 5.8 inches while retaining Note 5's 2560 x 1440 resolution.

Internal Specs

Although information remains scarce, it is safe to predict that Note 6 will probably have the same internal specifications as that of its Note 5 predecessor- Exynos 7420 CPU, 4GB of RAM, and base storage in-expandable offering options of 32GN, 64GB, and 128GB.

Android OS

If Note 5 runs on Android Lollipop, Note 6 will likely be running on Android's latest OS- Marshmallow or possibly the yet-to-be-announced Android N.

Camera

Note 6 is expect to arrive with a 12MP DualPixel sensor on the rear with an aperture of f/1.7 with a rumored Timeless Photo/Vivid Photo technology. As for the front camera, it will probably be the same as that of Note 5 with 5MP but with a much better aperture of f/1.7.

Better Pen Stylus

A hybrid S Pen Stylus with dual functionality is also reported to be included in its features. The new stylus allows users to pull, bend, and lock it to make it as a stand for the handset.

Meanwhile, some Android device users are still waiting for the Marshmallow update more than four months since Google's initial roll-out of the latest software update. Although some manufacturers and network carriers were quick to release the changes, many Samsung device users are apparently still waiting for the South Korean tech giant to roll-out the update according to a report by Gotta Be Mobile.
