Australian Squad for triangular series announced: Starc finds place.

After exiting the World T20 tournament Australia has started focusing on its next tours. Mitchell Starc's unavailability in the tournament was felt by the Aussie bowling side. Starc had broken his foot during the inaugural day-night Test played against New Zealand in Adelaide during the last November and thus was missed out from the Australian dugout. After his recovery the Left-arm fast bowler has been called back to the team. He has been selected for the limited-overs triangular series hosted by West Indies this June. He also underwent surgery for his ankle injury which had troubled him over the years during the break.

The 26 year old fast bowler was seen running slowly last month and since then has focused on building his fitness back. Rod Marsh, Chairman of the selectors quoted that "Mitchell has progressed very well in his rehab and the medical staff are confident he will be fit to play in this series" and he also added by saying "It is extremely pleasing to have a bowler of his calibre back in the side." Other than Starc, South Australia batsman Travis Head has also appeared in the one-day squad. He has been selected for the first time; the selectors noticed his impressive domestic performances in the season. Head had also recorded a double century while playing for South Australia in a domestic one-day competition. He was also named as the first class Player of the Year for his staggering figures of 721 runs. He also made his T20 debut against India in Adelaide this January.

The triangular series will be played between Australia, West Indies and South Africa. It will be held from 3 to 26th of June. Nathan Lyon, Wicketkeeper Matthew Wade has also been given place in the squad. After his impressive performance in the World Twenty20, Leg-spinner Adam Zampa is expected to perform well in Caribbean pitches.
