Miami-Wade is about to get a taste of Pearl Jam on April 9, as the rock band travels to Florida for a rare melting rock n' roll event at the American Airlines Arena.

The godfathers of grunge music is being challenged to a hoops duel with Miami Heat as Dwayne Wade issues the kind-hearted challenge to the band in a video posted to the team's official Facebook page.

"Any time you and the band Pearl Jam want to come and shoot hoops, you got the keys. See you guys in April," said Wade in the video clip as quoted by COS.

Although Vedder might get a fighting chance in baseball, bassist Jeff Ament could take on Wade's challenge. However, it's extremely unlikely that he'll ever get passed the three-time NBA champion.

Wade's adoring statement sounds more like paying tribute to the famed rock band but it contains an element of insult too as some keen observers would say. According to Miami New Times, the video clip also showed a devastating game-winning buzzer against Chicago Bulls- Vedder's beloved home team. Despite being a Chicagoan through and through, Wade is unquestionably Heat's loyal soldier.

Meanwhile, Wade recently put down swirling rumors of tying up with former teammate LeBron James over Cavs lead player's dream of putting together a 'superteam' that would possibly include Wade, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Paul.

"Don't put me in it. I ain't jumping in that. Don't put me in that right now. I'm not answering that question about what we talked about," remarked Wade as quoted by Sports Rageous.

Wade and old friend James had forged a powerful trio along with forward Chris Bosh that enabled Miami to take home the NBA title in 2012 and 2013. As James struggled to win another championship after his spectacular 2012 and 2013 seasons, observers are speculating that he might ask his friends to lend him hand in his road to a glorious championship comeback.
