After chasing the target of 92 set by the Ireland they surged to victory in just 13.2 over here at Ferozeshah Kotla Stadium. While Irelands campaign came to an end after their seven wicket loss against the Aussies. Thanks to 54 run partnership that came from inform player ElyseVillani who continued her classic shots that saw the ball continuously meet the boundary lines and Ellyse Perry in their third wicket partnership. Villani fell short of her half-century mark, when she was dismissed by Garth at 43 included six fours from 35 balls.

The pitch was a slow surface and saw plenty of dot balls and very less boundaries. After losing the toss and asked to bat first, with efforts from the top order Clare Shillington (22), Cecelia Joyce (23) and Kim Garth (27) of Ireland reached a not so competitive score of 91 after losing seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. It is to be noted that this score was their second highest in the competition. Irelands's poor bowling contributed for their defeat, skipper Isobel Joyce took a brilliant catch in the deep to dismiss the inform batsman Perry but later to their surprise the delivery was given as no ball, when it was found to be too above the waist.

After the valiant efforts of Villani and Perry the Australian women's squad finished their league rounds with Six points in the table, they are placed second behind the black caps New Zealand with points levelled. However the White Ferns have a game sparred and Run Rate on their side pushing the Aussie women's to second place.
