The Apple iPhone SE is ok and not fascinating. But Apple needs to really impress with the iPhone 7, according to some critics.

Apple's March 21 press event was about as expected, the 4-inch iPhone SE. It has been described as "an iPhone 6s in a 5s body."

The early review are in and the iPhone SE is "insanely powerful" by the reviewers describing it as an iPhone for people "with small hands and very less palm-size. It's a cross between the iPhone 5s and the 6S with specifications of the 6S and the form-factor and size of a 5S.

In September, when Apple comes out with a major product announcement, it needs to be something spectacular.Apple needs to impress big time at their september event if they're to take a leap forward and maintain its ever-leading thin smartphones users can buy.

However, does the iPhone 7 need to be "spectacular?"

The whole point of a new phone doesnt necessarily depend on everyone upgrading their phones every year and it's somewhat false too. The reality is that the upgrade to the next phone should be something gigantic and inspiring to consider it a "beast" choice.

Since, an average mobile phone user upgrades his/her phone about every two years, the aforementioned should be considered as a priority. Even though Apple's CEO Tim Cook explained that as per their latest surveys that about 40% of the userbase had either upgraded to their latest Flagships, keeping the same context for their next generation phones should be good enough to attract people and prompt an upgrade which is actually the challenge.

Apple have so far managed to pull a trick or two but how far will they rely on it? for sure they've been making the newer versions better than their predecessors so that people are determined to upgade more than necessary. The same however hasn't been the case in their other division, the iPads.

The sales are still not increasing as expected due to the fact that a five-year old iPad is still pretty good and works like a charm thereby preventing a potential upgrade since it already does its job which is why it's challenging to actually dominate in the respective product category.

The upcoming changes in smart phone financing has certainly changed the pace at which people upgraded. A nice attraction such as in camera departments and performances are certainly helping.

But that shouldn't limit the factor for the upcoming device which certainly has to be arguably different than the current devices.
