A recent study conducted by analyst firm IDC says that 2-in-1 detachable tablet devices are a growing computing rage.

Currently, Windows-based detachables dominate the market with 53% share. Among the competing detachables out in the market today, Microsoft Surface Pro is pretty well ahead of its rivals. Chris Cocks, the Microsoft VP for OEM technical sales, also notes that hybrid devices are growing in leaps and bounds and predicts that such machines will eventually reach the 75% mark in 2020.

"When (consumers) go into a store and sees something like the TabPro S...their reference of comparison will be a PC that they bought in 2011," remarked Socks as quoted in a USA Today report.

However, Samsung's Galaxy TabPro is quick to pick up the pace which could carve a significant market share for itself.

The new device has just been unveiled at this year's Consumer Electronics Show. As Samsung starts rolling out the hybrid gadget worldwide, the device comes with $899 retail price tag at Best Buy according to a roundup by Christian Today.

Also carrying the latest Windows OS, device will appear on Microsoft store website as well as at various US-wide Microsoft stores.

As the Galaxy TabPro wrestles with Surface Pro for market share in the coming months, both tablets share a string of similarities while retaining a number of distinct differences as enumerated by Computer World in their comparative report between the two devices.

Samsung's hybrid tablet pack is equipped with 12-inch Super AMOLED display with an extremely lightweight magnesium metal frame giving it a chic sleek external design.

As for its internal make-up, it contains 6th generation 2.2GHz Intel Dual Core M3, 4GB RAM, and a 128GB drive offering. There's no official word yet on a possible expanded state drive up to 256GB or an LTE model. Its 5, 200mAH battery can last for 10 hours before recharging it with the slate's USB Type-C port according to tech news report by Engadget.
