Apple Opts To Produce Self-Driving Car

Toyota, Ford, and General Motors are just some of the biggest household names in the car making industry. But as Silicon Valley giants enter the fray, 21st century automobiles will surely have a revolutionary makeover as we dig deeper into the not-so-distant future.

Now that its iconic iPhones and iPads are starting to go down drain according to recent mediocre earnings report, Apple would really have to stake its future growth and survival in innovation.

Just like Google, Apple has been putting quite a lot of resources on acquiring startups and poaching experts linked to developing the next generation of tech-driven cars- a driverless automobile that is.

Recently, news of an Apple-made self-driving car may be in the works is currently swirling around rumor land as the technology company registered website domains Apple.Auto and Apple.Cars according to a report by CNBC.

Insiders are reportedly leaking about an unconfirmed Project Titan purportedly employing about a thousand designers and engineers which the company is trying to put a tight lid on as mentioned in an article by Daily Mail.

But Tesla supremo Elon Musk believes that Apple will not miss being part of a creatively disruptive wave of car revolution. He added that the so-called Project Titan is actually a Silicon Valley 'open secret'.

"It's pretty hard to hide something if you hire over a thousand engineers to do it," said Musk as quoted saying by BBC News.

In a similar note, Apple is already providing auto tech solutions with its CarPlay- an automotive infotainment system to rival Google's Android Auto.

According to The Motley Fool, Ford-made and Fiat Chrysler-manufactured cars will probably have CarPlay system installed after Apple succeeded in entering partnerships with the two notable carmakers.
