Online dating is all about right timing. So if you're keen on scoring a hook-up, you are most likely to succeed when you use the app during the night.

Dating matches usually happen at 9pm, the time when registered users surge to access Tinder and receive responses from prospective dates according to a recently published report by Nielsen Media Research.

The New York-based research firm not only deals with tracking TV viewership. It also keeps track of mobile phone usage with their Electronic Mobile Measurement services.

"When we look at unique audience we see that a larger percentage of all OKC users sign in both in the morning and night. On Tinder, the user's likelihood to check in between noon and midnight is mostly flat at about 40%," Nielsen's official statement said as quoted in a report by New York Daily News.

According to Gadget Gestures, the study involved a careful study of 65, 000 mobile phone bills, server logs, and data gathered from installed device meters on nearly 9, 000 android and iOS smartphones.

Romantic seekers can expect Tinder matches between 6pm and 10pm with peak surge at 9pm with 51.64% online visitors as mentioned in a Huffington Post article.

But slumping toward the end of your day job by surfing the internet may also yield positive outcomes as 50.61% of Tinder users reportedly flock to the site at around 4pm. Just don't spend too much time fishing around for dates between 2am and 5am when sign-ins are its lowest.
