The Boston Celtics, 4-11, is a young team that is still rebuilding. As the team, headed by coach Brad Stevens, who is in his second year, continues to develop, rumors are swirling that Jeff Green will not be a part of the team's future.

Green, who will become a free agent next season, has a $9.2 million player option for this season. After telling reporters that his frustration with the team was at "an all-time high," Green could be on the top of the trade list. Green, however, has stated that he loves playing in Boston and clarified that he never said he wanted to be traded.

"I just want to clear the air about some B.S. rumor that came out," Green commented reported by the Boston Herald. "I don't know who made up this article, but the rumor about me wanting to be traded is definitely false. I said I was frustrated with losing, not frustrated with the team. If the words don't come from my mouth, then I would appreciate if you don't write a dumb (expletive) article like that."

Green, who has been putting up good numbers, has a high trade value and will have many suitors. He could go to the Chicago Bulls, Memphis Grizzlies, Charlotte Hornets, New York Knicks, or Detroit Pistons. However, if the Celtics do not get a good enough deal for Green, he could end up finishing, what may be, his last season with the Celtics before entering free agency.

Other key players that the Celtics could trade are Rajon Rondo and Brandon Bass. Rondo will become an unrestricted free agent next year. Although the Celtics has stated that they want Rondo to stay in Boston, the team could lose him next year for nothing. If they trade Rondo now, they could bring in some key players.

Brandon Bass has been the subject of trade talk before the season began. His performance so far has been pretty solid, with an average of 8.3 points and 3.4 rebounds over the span of about 18 minutes per game.

"(Bass) has continued to play very well for the Celtics, which means there's a chance he may not be with the team this entire season," Steve Bulpett wrote in the Boston Herald. "Scouts and opposing front-office types have begun to speak and inquire about the 29-year-old forward, a practice that's generally a precursor to discussing a trade."

The trade deadline is scheduled for Feb. 19, 3p.m EST.
