Just days after the Green Bay Packers' run to the Super Bowl was ended by the Arizona Cardinals, Packers head coach, Mike McCarthy, has discussed some of the things that need to be fixed before next season.

McCarthy stated in the season-ending news conference, reported by ESPN.com, "Eddie Lacy, He's got a lot of work to do. His offseaseon last year was not good enough, and he never recovered from it. He cannot play at the weight he did this year."

McCarthy does not have a tendency to call out players. However, this was the second time that he has talked about Lacy in particular.

Offensive coordinator, Edgar Bennett added that the team will be working with the 25-year-old third-year running back.

"I think, as a team, we're disappointed in the fact that we didn't accomplish our ultimate goal, and obviously, he [Lacy] plays an important part in that," Bennett said. "As far as how do we get him back to perform at that high level? We continue to educate and demand -- and we support. I think that's a big part of it."

Lacy was listed as 5-foot-11 and 234 pounds this past season.

Lacy's weight has been criticized in the past. During his rookie campaign in 2013, critics discussed his weight repeatedly. However, his weight then did not seem to affect his ability to run the ball. In 2013 and 2014, he ran for more than 1,100 yards each year and amassed a total of 20 rushing touchdowns. He also won the 2013 Associated Press' Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.

During this past season, however, Lacy ran for 758 yards and three touchdowns on 187 carries. Midway through the season, he lost his starting position to James Starks. Lacy dealt with ankle, groin and rib injuries throughout the season.

Lacy will become a free agent after the 2016 season.
