Even though 2016 has just started, Lady Gaga fans are already expecting it to be a great one especially now that the singer has announced a new album.

While at the Golden Globes on Sunday night, Lady Gaga, 29, revealed that she has plans to release an album sometime this year.

"I am putting out an album this year. I won't tell you when, but it is coming out this year," the singer said.

Although there are no other details about the album, many are wondering whether or not role as the Countess in the FX series, "American Horror Story" will influence her music. The TV acting role led to Lady Gaga's first ever Golden Globe nomination and win. Lady Gaga beat out several acclaimed actresses for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or TV Motion Picture.

"That's a difficult thing to say as I don't know that you yet know what I will look like for my next album, as I'm still creating all of those things. It's something that is a gradual change always with me," she said when asked if her music has changed with her over the past few years. "What was nice about playing The Countess is it reminded me that in my own life and in my music, I'm always - at times - playing a character, and I become them fully. And living inside of her was liberating, I'll tell you, because she doesn't give a s** about anything."

She added, "With my music and my position in the world, I only hope to give back as much to my fans and to the universe as they have given to me through my work and through my life."

The last time Lady Gaga released an album was in 2014 when she collaborated with Tony Bennett on "Cheek to Cheek."

Since then, Lady Gaga has been focused on acting as well as her personal life - she got engaged to actor Taylor Kinney.
