Jennifer wants to follow the footsteps of A-list stars who are not only made waves in acting but have also ventured in directing their own movie.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly via Comingsoon.net, the Hunger Games star admitted that she is set to direct a movie project entitled Project Delirium which derives inspiration from a true-to-life account discussed in a 2012 New Yorker article Operation Delirium by Raffi Khatchadourian.

"I'd also like to direct a comedy. I have wanted to direct as long as I've wanted to act. I just don't talk about it because I'd rather just do it. I've signed on to direct something called 'Project Delirium' - it's based on this article about mental warfare in the '60s, like an acid experiment gone terribly wrong. It's funny, I've wanted to direct since I was 16 and always thought I should start making steps towards that. If I had tried to do it earlier, I wouldn't have been ready. Now I actually feel ready," she told the news source.

The true story account is said to talk about the chemical warfare experiments by Colonel James S. Ketchum at the Edgewood military facility in Maryland from 1960 to 1969. The experiment that involved over 5000 volunteers aimed to 'incapacitate agents' without trying to kill them with the use of drugs-LSD, BZ and marijuana.

The story set to have a dark humor tone is said to dwell on the drama of these Edgewood subjects whose mental states after the experiments were not checked.

Aside from her directing stint, the 26-year old actress is also recently collaborating in writing a comedy screenplay with new showbiz pal Amy Schumer, IB Times reported.

Meanwhile, The Verge remembered a previous Vogue interview with the American Hustle actress in the heights of her Golden Globe awards fame.

In an interview, Jennifer Lawrence expressed how he has always loved to direct her own movie.

"I want to direct. But I would rather just do it than talk about it." ...As part of her film schooling, Lawrence has been sitting in on [director David O.] Russell's editing sessions for Joy. "It's funny because I'm like, This process is so unique to him. There's almost nothing I can take away from it. It would be like watching a dolphin and being like, 'Oh! So that's how you swim in the ocean!'" she said that time.
