The third season of "House of Cards," Netflix's super hit political drama thriller series, is all set to premiere February 27, 2015, the live-streaming website announced on twitter.

In typical fashion, Netflix first teased the announcement on the social media website, tweeting:

"BREAKING NEWS: President Underwood and the First Lady will be making an announcement today at 11 A.M. EST. Please stand by..."

And two hours later, they finally broke the suspense posting a clip of Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) and wife Claire (Robin Wright) ascending a flight of stairs to a private jet. A black presidential limousine is parked at the runway in the background, which shows the ruthless Underwood is now in power.

The second season of "House of Cards" ended with Underwood finally managing to become the President. He climbed the political ladder through maleficent deeds and as the announcement suggests, the third season could see the new president wreaking havoc in his own way.

"House of cards" is the only online series to have won an Emmy Award. The uber-popular political drama saga won the Emmy for its outstanding sound mix and also bagged several nominations including best lead actor and actress both. It competed for the best drama series in 2013, losing out to AMC's "Breaking Bad" and also won a Golden Globe nomination as well.

IndieWire is speculating that a teaser trailer of "House of Cards" may hit the web soon. It also notes that the timing of the series' return announcement was perfect, especially with the award season round the corner.
