People cannot get enough of Emilia Clarke!

The 28-year-old actress, known for playing Daenerys Targaryen aka the Mother of Dragons from the hit HBO show, "Games of Thrones," has been crowed Esquire's sexiest woman alive. The title was announced Tuesday, about one month after British GQ named Clarke the Woman of the Year.

In the November issue, Clarke talked about how she landed a role on the insanely successful show.

"My agent calls me up and says, 'Did you ever go up for Game of Thrones?'" the British beauty recalled. "My agent told the casting director, 'I know that the breakdown for this character is tall and willowy and blonde. I know she's short and round and brown, but I'd like you to see her.' I had two scenes which told me nothing and not very much time in which to read all those [George R. R. Martin] books. So I did what every good actor does and Wikipedia'd the living crap out of it."

Clarke's understanding of the character was vital in helping her land the role.

"[They wanted] someone who could grow before your eyes in one season," she explained. "Who could gather strength and show vulnerability, they wanted the arc..."

Even though the show arguably launched her career, Clarke stated that filming the show's earlier scenes, which included nudity, sex and rape, at the young age of 23 was rough.

"Once, I had to take a little time out," she said. "I said I needed a cup of tea, had a bit of a cry, and was ready for the next scene."

Despite the difficult scenes, Clarke's work on "Games of Thrones" has made her unforgettable.

Writer Benjamin Markovits, who interviewed Clarke, beautifully explained why Clarke is the sexiest woman of the year. He wrote:

"Half pal, half dominatrix. Half kid sister, half sexy queen. The movie star who plays, in her real life, an anonymous, funny beauty. This is the gorgeous balance of Emilia Clarke."

Since her "Game of Thrones" years, Clarke has also starred in "Terminator Genisys," which game out this summer. She had two upcoming movies, "Voice from the Stone" and "Me Before You" and is one of the few actors who will be returning to season 6 of "Games of Thrones."
