Memphis Grizzlies forward Matt Barnes attacked New York Knicks head coach Derek Fisher over the weekend after learning that Fisher was romantically involved with his ex-wife Gloria Govan.

The fight took place in Los Angeles after Barnes learned that Fisher was at a house Barnes shared with Govan, according to The New York Post. Barnes was in Southern California because the Grizzlies have their training camp in Santa Barbara, and Fisher was in the region not only to mingle with Govan, but also visit his children, who live in Los Angeles.

After learning that Fisher was at his house, Barnes flew into a rage and drove 95 miles to Los Angeles so he could confront Fisher. At the time of the fight, Fisher and Govan were hosting a bonfire in the backyard with around 10 people.

The fight seems not to have gotten too out of hand, as there were "only a few scratches" sources told the Post. Fisher won't press charges against Barnes, who is a former teammate. The two played together with the Los Angeles Lakers from 2010 to 2012.

At the same time however, it is said that Govan, a former star of the reality TV series Basketball Wives, will seek a restraining order against Barnes for his actions.

Fisher missed the Knicks practiced scheduled for Monday, and it is unclear if it was because of the fight. The Knicks Twitter account mentioned "personal reasons," but other people have contended that his flight back from Los Angeles was simply delayed.
