Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman are nowhere to be seen in their daughter Isabella's recently-revealed low-key wedding in a Scientology ceremony in London on September 18.

As both Tom and Nicole are big stars in Hollywood, both feel that their presence in their adopted daughter's special day 'would cause a media circus' and ruin the occasion, sources from Mail Online said.

"Tom picked up the bill and paid for everything, but it was decided that neither he nor Nicole should attend as it would have turned the whole event into a circus," a source said.

Isabella's brother Connor and parents of Isabella's British husband, Max Parker cannot also be seen during the ceremony. In the photos, only the couple's closest friends, who acquiesced to the black and white theme, are present.

Nevertheless, sources said that parents from both sides have helped planned the 'low key but very expensive' wedding with the actress involved meeting the couple days before the wedding and helped in its planning.

"Nicole was actually involved with the wedding preparations and she did have a private dinner with Bella and Max. But she didn't go to the ceremony. Also, the animosity between Tom and Nicole was probably a factor."

Kidman is currently in the UK for an acting stint on the play Photograph 51 at the Noel Coward Theatre in London.

Meanwhile, Hollywood Life reported that Tom's busy schedule is the reason that hindered him to attend his daughter's low-key wedding.

"Tom is filming a new film that is taking time and millions of dollars not to mess up scheduling, along with that he also didn't go to the wedding because it was his daughter's wishes and he knows that if he went it would be all about him. Paps and guests would have made it a less special day had they been focusing on Tom," a source said.

Isabella and her brother Connor has since lived with their father since his divorce with the Australian actress. They had also embraced Scientology as their religion.

"They live with Tom, which was their choice...I've chosen not to speak publicly about Scientology. I have two children who are Scientologists - Connor and Isabella - and I utterly respect their beliefs," the actress once said as mentioned in Franchise Herald.
